Tara Aderman - Front Office

Tara
Chief Academic Officer Tara Aderman earned her Administrative Credential in 2007. She has eight years teaching experience and was recognized as the 2005 Teacher of the Year in Monterey County. Mrs. Aderman spent many years as Adjunct Site Faculty member with the Cal State teach program mentoring new teachers and is a certified Tribes trainer. She earned her Masters degree in Curriculum and Education and is looking forward to completing her Ed.D in School Administration. Mrs. Aderman has been invited to present at national, state and local conferences and has had various journal articles published.

Bill Batchelor - Front Office



Chief Operating Officer Bill Batchelor holds a bachelor's degree in Finance Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has fourteen years experience in financial planning. He has four children, one at LVCS (a second grader). He is also the head coach of several youth sports teams, including a recent championship football team.

Vice Principal Michael Waechter has taught middle school math for nine years and has experience with coaching and student advising. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Pacific in Liberal Arts with a Mathematics Emphasis. Michael has cleared his Multiple Subject Credential and a Mathematics Supplementary Authorization.

Margie Foreman - Library

Margie Foreman
Margie grew up all over California and graduated from Del Mar High School in San Jose. She worked for Smith Barney in the operations department for many years prior to retiring to raise her children. She is married and has three sons, Joshua, Caleb, and Mark. The oldest graduated from high school last year, and the other two are currently enrolled in LVCS. Her love of reading began at a very young age. She spent many hours at the public library getting her “free” books. She is currently enrolled at Las Positas College and Cuesta College taking both Library Science classes and General Education. Her goal is to earn her degree in Library Science with teaching credentials. In her free time she loves to read, quilt, scrapbook, hike, and perform in plays.

Linda Eschen - Library

Linda Eschen
Linda grew up in San Leandro, California and graduated from Moreau High School in Hayward. She worked for the State of California, Department of Real Estate, in San Francisco, for several years in the Legal Dept. She then worked in Escrow for many years in the Tri-Valley until her oldest son was born. She then retired from the work force to raise three boys and one daughter. Linda is currently taking on-line library classes at Cuesta in San Luis Obispo. She enjoys cooking, reading, crochet and calligraphy in her spare time.

Kristin has worked as a School Psychologist for the Antioch Unified School District before joining the LVCS staff. She received here BA degree in psychology from California State University, Fullerton. She earned an MA and an Educational Specialist degree from Chapman University in Orange, California. Kristin is very happy to be a new member of the LVCS staff.

Jennifer Reynoso - Speech Pathologist

Jennifer grew up in Livermore, graduating from Livermore High School. She later received her bachelor's and master's degrees from CSU Hayward in Speech-Pathology and Audiology. Jennifer has worked for several local school districts before joining LVCS. She also works with adults at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward. Additionally, she is fluent in both English and Spanish and contracts with local school districts for bilingual assessments.

John Mahlstedt - Math Specialist

John Mahlstedt
John has been a director of programs serving children in grades K-11 through the City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department since 2002. After experiencing how rewarding it was to work with children, he began to pursue a career in teaching. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from San Jose State University, and then enrolled in the Middle Level Emphasis credential program through SJSU College of Education. He received his multiple subjects credential this past May and looks forward to sharing his creativity and enthusiasm for learning math with his students.

Mary Stow - Library - Reading Specialist

Mary attended the University of San Diego for undergraduate education, specializing in Diversified Liberal Arts and Human Development. She received her Reading Specialist Credential and Masters in Reading at St. Mary's College. Mary has taught first and third grades in the tri-valley area. She currently is the Reading Specialist at the Charter School for 3 1/2 days a week and works for St. Mary's College supervising student teachers. Mary also wears her "parent hat" at the school, with children in first and third grade.

Colleen Christiansen - Yard Supervisor and Dragon Zone Teacher

Colleen Christiansen
Colleen is a Livermore native and an LVCS parent.  Colleen attended Columbia Community College in Sonora after high school, and then returned to Livermore to raise her family.  Colleen worked several years at LLNL in the plant engineering department.  She rediscovered her love of working with children when she was asked to work at LVCS as a yard supervisor.  Colleen has expanded her work at LVCS to include the morning program at Dragon Zone.  The children respond well to Colleen’s genuine interest and concern for them, as well as her kind and loving demeanor.  In her spare time, Colleen enjoys spending time with her family and working in her garden.

Kim Admas - Dragon Zone Program Director

Kim Adams has been program director of the Dragon Zone childcare center since the spring of 2008.  Kim excels at designing environments in which children can safely learn and explore. With over 20 years of experience educating and operating preschool/childcare centers as well as a degree in Creative Arts from San Jose State, Kim has a rare understanding of the ways in which children perceive and interact with their world.   Kim owns and operates a preschool in Palo Alto.  Kim has led workshops and trainings on creativity and curriculum both locally and nationally and is an early childhood development mentor teacher. 
Kim has enjoyed being an active member of the LVCS parent community from its beginning.   Kim identifies herself first as a mother, and uses what she has learned as a mom to partner effectively with families and the community.

Lena Barta - Dragon Zone Site Supervisor

Lena Barta
Lena Barta is the Dragon Zone Site Supervisor, which keeps her busy inside the classroom and out. Lena has been in the child development field since 1999 and has loved every minute of it. Something special Lena brings to D.Z. would be her love and affection towards kids. Children and adults alike respond well to Lena’s kind and gentle spirit. Lena is currently enrolled at Las Positas College and is finishing her classes in Child Development Supervision and Administration. Lena lived in Livermore for ten years and recently moved to Tracy. Lena is happily married and enjoys being a mother of a teenager. She has 2 pet Chihuahua’s named Sweetie and Noname. Her hobbies and interests include shopping, hiking and spending quality time with her family.

Gina Bartlett - Dragon Zone Teacher

Gina Bartlett has lived in Livermore most of her life. Growing up here has given her a special understanding of this exceptional community. Gina has been teaching at Dragon Zone since September 2007. Gina attended college at Las Positas. She has two wonderful boys that keep her going non-stop. In her free time, Gina sells Cookie Lee Jewelry when ever she can. Something special Gina brings to DZ would have to be her happiness and understanding of the kids. Gina enjoys working with children and communicating with their families.

Greta Flores - Dragon Zone Teacher Aide

Greta Flores was born and raised in Livermore, Ca. She is 19 years old and currently attending Las Positas College to pursue her education in nursing. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Greta joined the Dragon zone team a year ago and has since proven herself to be a great asset. She has a dynamic personality and brings energy and enthusiasm to the job. She strives to develop lasting bonds not only with the children but also with the staff and families. Greta is one of a kind, and we hope to have her for years to come at Dragon Zone.

Eric Folsom - Dragon Zone Teacher Aide

Eric Folsom
Eric has worked at Dragon Zone for 16 months. He is working on a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at San Jose State University. He enjoys running, soccer, backpacking, and playing the guitar. Eric brings enthusiasm and creativity to his work at Dragon Zone. The children relate to his sense of humor and his gentle demeanor. Working at Dragon Zone has been a great experience for Eric, and he hopes to continue working at Dragon Zone for many years to come.

Amy George - Dragon Zone Teacher

Amy George
Amy George grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Livermore in early 2007. Amy has worked at Dragon Zone since June 2007 and has become an integral part of the DZ staff. Amy has taken several courses at Las Positas College which include Child Development classes. Amy loves working at Dragon Zone and appreciates working with and sharing classroom space with the LVCS teachers. Amy values the strong relationships she has formed with the children and their families. Amy is known at DZ for her superior organizational skills as well as her silly sense of humor. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her son and spending time with her family.

Aishlin Greene - Dragon Zone Teacher

Aishlin Greene will have her AA in liberal arts and sciences in Spring 2010 and from there hopes to attend San Jose State University to get her Bachelors degree in Nursing to become a Registered Nurse at a children's hospital. Aishlin has been a part of the Dragon Zone team since July 2007 and has enjoyed every minute of it. She has had an opportunity to work with each grade level at DZ and values each child's stage of development. She likes spending time with all the kids and getting to know them. Aishlin lived in Switzerland for 5 years and brings her multicultural experiences, creativeness and athleticism to Dragon Zone in the form of activities, crafts and games. She enjoys interacting with the kids and providing a fun and safe environment for them.

Carla Guzman - Dragon Zone Teacher

Carla Guzman has lived in Livermore for the past nine years. She has been a valuable member of our staff since 2007. Carla works at Dragon Zone along with her mother (Luisa), and her sister (Pammie). Carla is currently attending Las Positas College. Her plans are to transfer to a State University where she will pursue her degree in child development. Her love of children doesn’t end at work, Carla has a niece Giselle, whom she cherishes her time with. Carla is very compatible with her third and fourth grade class and in turn creates intriguing and stimulating projects. In her free time she likes shopping, reading, and hanging out with her friends and family, as well as experiencing new and rewarding times.

Pamela Guzman - Dragon Zone Teacher

Pamela Guzman
Pamela Guzman has her AA degree in liberal arts and is currently working on her BA in psychology and minor in sociology and business administration at San Jose State University. She has been working at Dragon Zone for two years and loves her work. Pam brings an energetic personality and dynamic curriculum to her work at Dragon Zone. She sees her strongest key element as being able to easily bond with the children. Pam finds helping children grow and learn rewarding and interesting. In her spare time she loves listening to music and spending quality time with her warm and loving family.

Courtney Miller - Dragon Zone Teacher

Courtney Miller
Courtney Miller is a twenty-one year old college student who has always had a passion for caring for others. Ultimately her goal is to become an ultra sound technician and is currently attending college to earn her degree. Courtney has been working as a teacher at Dragon Zone for over a year now and greatly enjoys her job and all the wonderful bonds she has formed with the children thus far. One of Courtney’s favorite activities to do with the kids is cooking. The children love to learn from and work with Courtney in the kitchen. In her spare time Courtney enjoys spending time with family and friends.

David Rodriguez - Dragon Zone Teacher

David Rodriguez
David Rodriguez has experience working with children of all ages. He was a California state cross country champion in 1996 and went to Georgetown University on a track scholarship. In his summers, home from college, he would work for the Kidango Inc. network of preschools. After college, he spent two years in France teaching High school in Provence. Since that time he has had a variety of jobs including, professional cyclist, bakery manager and luxury travel coordinator. He is hoping to stay with Dragon Zone until he begins law school in 2010.

Sharlee Sois - Dragon Zone Teacher

Sharlee Sois
Sharlee has been working in the field of Child Development for over three years. She is currently enrolled at Las Positas College completing her general education. Sharlee primarily works with our kindergarten students, but often floats to other classroom when needed. The children, families, and staff enjoy Sharlee’s friendly and charismatic personality. In the future, Sharlee plans to continue her work in childcare or a related field. Some of Sharlee’s hobbies include running, reading and social event planning.
